TSTC Harlingen is proud to announce its reaffirmation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools received on June 23, 2005!!!

Congratulations to the TSTC Harlingen Faculty and Staff who provide the first-class quality of instruction and support services on a daily basis that enabled the college to be rated in full compliance of all SACS accreditation principles. The college received "no recommendations" on its compliance audit!

As part of the reaffirmation process, a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) "Developing Critical Thinking" was submitted to and approved by the Commission on Colleges. This ten-year plan is designed to improve student learning through the enhancement of student critical thinking (CT) skills across the curriculum. The development of the QEP was led by a team which coordinated a broad-based collaboration of all faculty, staff, and students through various college structures, such as focus groups, task forces, standing college committees, the Faculty Senate, and the Staff Council.

As TSTC Harlingen enters the first of the ten years the QEP encompasses, the QEP Steering Committee will lead the college toward a solid foundation in critical thinking concepts which will enable all faculty and staff to devote themselves to the development of critical thinking skills among all of its students throughout the coming decade.
